Is it Possible for a soccer player to kick a regulation size 5 soccer ball with enough force to shatter a windshield over 50 feet away?

Yes it is!

What you see above and below is the result of a volley shot that I took with a soccer ball approximately 20 yards away from where the truck was parked in the driveway on 11 May, 2014.

The Ford F-250 was parked in the opposite direction when the damage occurred and the soccer goal I was shooting at can be seen through the back glass of the truck in the lower picture.

My shot sailed a foot or so over the goal and shattered the truck windshield just as you see it. The windshield had no previous damage before the ball impacted it.

The uprights & cross bars on my practice goals regularly receive equal treatment
